According Kevin 'Dj Powa' Hamilton, he is just an ordinary disc jock who was just doing a thing for fun after being influenced by the Bed Intruder song by the Gregory brothers, "Me and a friend of mine Andre Campbell decided to try it with the Tivoli Incident We Are Deading and the response was good so I decided to try it again," he said. The DJ says that he is yet to recover from the shock of hearing that the video was getting so much attention especially its preview on popular news network CBS, "a friend told me via Facebook that it was on CBS and I thought it was a joke until he posted the link and I was like CBS? The write-up was hilarious," he said animatedly. Dj Powa, who is also a business opportunist, says that the We Are Deading remix is currently selling on iTunes and Nobody Caana Cross it will be up for sale in a few days. According to the disc jock and entrepreneur, he along with his business partner, Timo, also have a T-shirt line called 'The People Are Deading' and they are making preparations to release the 'Nobody Caana Cross It' edition. Dj Powa says that since the success of his video remixes, he has gained a new respect for the social media, "It's a wonderful medium for expression and it can carry ordinary persons to places they never imagined. I just wish persons would use it wisely," he told THE STAR. As it relates to doing future remixes he said, "I will continue to make more videos like this, as long as people are laughing," he promised. [contributor : Shamari] ![]() REGGAE artiste Buju Banton was today sentenced to 10 years by United States magistrate Jim Moody in the Sam M Gibbons US Court in TampaFlorida. He will be incarcerated at the FCI prison facility in Miami. The artiste – real name Mark Myrie – was found guilty in February of conspiring to negotiate a drug deal in a police controlled warehouse in Florida. The charge of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug offense was dropped however. The artiste was slapped with the heavy sentence despite pleas for leniency by his attorney, his children, movie star Danny Glover and other character witnesses. Banton, whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie, seemed resigned to accept his fate and calmy accepted the verdict. To be precise, Buju will know his fate on June 23 in a Florida court. Just a quick look back on the events surrounding Buju’s trial: On December 10 of 2009, Buju Banton was arrested at his Florida home. According to a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration affidavit the week before his arrest, Buju and two others tried to buy a large amount of cocaine from an undercover officer in Sarasota. Buju has since been tried twice. In the first trial, after three days of deliberating, the court ruled a mistrial following a split between the 12 jurors. Joseph Carozza says his client’s condition has been upgraded to serious more than a week after Kingston crashed his watercraft into a bridge off Miami Beach. A female passenger also was injured. Kingston has been hospitalized since the May 29 crash. Carozza says Kingston walked Monday morning for the first time since the crash.
