Having been named a person of interest by the police, dancehall artiste Flexxx said he had to cut short his stint in the United States in order to clear his name. The artiste, whose name is Omar Henry, was listed as a person of interest by the St Andrew North Police Division two weeks ago. However, at the time he was in the United States and was unable to report to the police. Flexxx, who had performed in California alongside Mavado and did other shows with Kibaki elsewhere, said he had to make a hasty return to the island. He said he decided to return even sooner after hearing an interviewMavado did with Irie FM's 'Music News' disassociating himself from him. "I could have stayed but Mavado did an interview disassociating himself. He called denying that I was on tour with him. He didn't have to do an interview like that. Because he did that interview I had to cut it short and get myself cleared up," he told THE STAR, noting that he also missed some promotional shows as a result. In the interview that was done with the radio station last weekend, Mavado said: "I want Jamaica to know that I am not on tour. All of the shows, I am doing by myself. I don't know anything about anyone being on tour with me. That's strange to me. I just want to clear it up that I am just here working hard on my album." But when asked about the situation between himself and Mavado, Flexxx had very little to say. "I am doing my thing. I am signed to Hapilos Entertainment and my career is doing well. Mi nah really look fi who waan deal wid mi and who nuh waan deal wid mi," he told THE STAR. Meanwhile, Flexxx said his visit with the police lasted approximately 15 minutes, as he claimed the police said they had done their investigation and "everybody a seh yuh a law-abiding citizen and you a artiste." He said he was also asked about an incident that occurred in Whitehall Avenue in St Andrew which he had no knowledge about. Now that the issue with the police has been resolved, Flexxx said he will be returning to the United States to complete the shows that he said were going well up to the point of his departure. He said he will be doing a number of shows in places like New York and Massachusetts. In addition, Flexxx said he will be releasing a song with Ms Thing called When Mi Want it. He added that hismusic video with Chevaugh for a song calledCaan Stop Wi Now is slated for release and he will be doing a video for Seh Weh Mi Waan Seh on his return to the island. source : the jamaica star you may also like :11/5/2011 0 Comments Mavado & Drake To Collaborate[Contributor : Shamari] After performing together within the last year, prominent dancehall singjay, Mavado and Canadian hip-hop superstar, Drake are set to put their chemistry to the ultimate test. A source within Mavado’s Gullyside camp revealed the news to the online source intimating that the new album will be done through the conduit of DJ Khaled’s label, We The Best Music Group. Beenie Man and Mavado weren't the only Jamaican entertainers who had their U.S. visas and work permits revoked last year — the others were deejays Bounty Killer and Aidonia and sound system selector Ricky Trooper; fellow artists Vybz Kartel and Sizzla had already lost their visas at earlier dates. The U.S. Embassy in Kingston gave no reason for revoking the visas, nor did they provide a rationale for their sudden reinstatement. [Contributor : Shamari] DANCEHALL Deejay Mavado, real name ‘David Brooks’, was ordered to return to court in late September when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court to answer to charges of assault and malicious destruction of property this morning. Mavado’s attorney, Martyn Thomas, filed an application before Resident Magistrate Coralin Tie, that the matter be referred to mediation instead of trial. But Tie postponed her judgement on the application until a full medical report was available. Mavado, whose real name is David Brooks, was charged following an incident near Anchovy, St James last month. He is accused of encouraging members of his entourage to attack a man and his son after the man refused to move his vehicle to allow the deejay to avoid potholes. The man was allegedly beaten all over his body with a machete and his son reportedly hit in the face with machete causing him to lose several teeth. The Jamaica Star has been informed that a report was filed against the deejay and a member of his entourage at the Anchovy Police Station in St James. The police are reporting that about 7 p.m., on Friday, the 51-year-old complainant and his 17-year-old son were travelling along Belmont Road, St James, when they came upon a group of vehicles travelling in a procession. It is alleged that the complainant stopped at a section of the roadway to allow the procession to pass. After letting through a number of vehicles, an argument developed between the complainant and Mavado. It is understood that the argument developed after the deejay told the complainant that his vehicle could not pass in the allotted space. Reports are that Mavado then used his vehicle to hit the complainant's vehicle causing damages to the front door and injuries to his hand. Following this, a member of the deejay's entourage allegedly alighted from another vehicle and used a machete to slap the complainant's son on his mouth. The Anchovy police yesterday confirmed the incident and are seeking the deejay. In recent times, Mavado has had a number of run-ins with the law. In May, he was charged with malicious destruction of property, and in June, he was charged with assault following an incident at the Quad nightclub in New Kingston where his friend Conroy Edwards was shot and killed by a policeman.
