Internationally renowned Reggae superstar, Miguel Orlando Collins, better known as Sizzla Kalonji, remains in serious but stable condition in the St. Ann’s Bay hospital following a crash involving his motor cycle & a bus in Runaway Bay on Wednesday night. The “Praise Ye Jah,” singer has been surrounded by friends, family & Kalonji Musik representatives since his admission into hospital & Sizzla’s loved ones are appreciative of the concern & prayers that have come his way from fans & the Dancehall/Reggae industry since the crash. “The family of Miguel Collins and staff of Kalonji Muzik would like to thank everyone for praying for Sizzla Kalonji and sending him positive energy,” said Kalonji Musik representatives via press release. Additionally, the press release stated, “As strong and resilient as his messages, we look forward to seeing him on a powerful journey towards healing. Sizzla is presently surrounded by lots of love from his family and friends.” Sizzla’s ordeal occurred as the bike he was riding crashed into a bus that was allegedly attempting to overtake the singer. The crash occurred near the popular Jerky’s restaurant in the area; throwing Sizzla off his bike. The bus driver in the incident reportedly refused to stop despite the crash. Sizzla was then taken to the St. Ann’s Bay hospital where doctors tried vigorously to ensure he regained stability & consciousness. Sizzla suffered several broken bones resulting from the accident including a broken collarbone, broken finger & internal bleeding cause by a ruptured liver. He was airlifted to a Kingston hospital on Thursday morning to further operate on Sizzla. The artiste was deemed conscious earlier this morning, according to a member of his camp. Sizzla is scheduled to go on tour across the Caribbean as well as African, Japan and other regions later this year to promote his 65th album, The Scriptures that was released earlier this summer.
